Old Irish Goat Breed Conservation Strategy

Over two days, society members and stakeholders took part in expert-led training, delivered by Prof. Phillip Sponenberg, leading expert on livestock genetics and breed conservation.

We then continued with thoughtful discussion, shared expertise, and heartfelt commitment to develop the Old Irish Goat Breed Conservation plan and strategy.

Stakeholders from a range of organisations participated including the Department of Agriculture, Food and the Marine, The National Parks and Wildlife Service, University of Galway, the British Primitive Goat Research Group Future Farms Consultancy and the Old Irish Goat Society.
